YUBI Clothing is inspired by the Japanese concept of ukiyo-e, a woodblock art style popular during the Edo era. The brand aims to combine Edo-era Japanese art and culture with contemporary streetwear. The word yubi means fingers in Japanese, which influenced the T-shirt graphic designs.
When creating the logo, the letters "Y" and "B" were fundamental in the design, using positive and negative space to arrange the letters into a 3D cube. Neon orange and bright blue were chosen to capture the brand's modern edge, while the waves seen in the negative space of the "Y" are reminiscent of ukiyo-e woodblock prints.
